Physical, Occupational, Speech

Rehabilitation means reshaping lives and restoring lost abilities after an illness or injury. It means treating the whole patient- physically, emotionally, and socially- to return patients to their optimum level of function for a better quality of life.  

The residents at Colonial Manor are assisted in their recovery in a home-like environment by a team of caring and highly qualified rehabilitation professionals.  

Rehabilitation Programs: Caring for residents recovering from acute or chronic conditions that have left them with a functional disability.  


Pulmonary Focused Rehabilitation:

Our Pulmonary Focused Rehabilitation Program is staffed with a licensed Respiratory Therapist to treat complex respiratory problems including patients with new tracheostomy. There is a specific unit with walled in oxygen and suctioning to meet the needs of these complex patients. We also have a professional staff of therapists who work closely with patients to get them to their prior level of function so they can return home. 

Total Joint Replacement:

This program focuses on using Physical and Occupational Therapies to maximize the function of residents recovering from total knee and hip replacement surgery. 

Pre-Prosthetic:

For residents recovering from limb amputation, with a direct focus on wound healing, preparations for prosthesis and achieving the most in functional improvement.

Communication and Swallowing:

Our program offers specialized speech pathology services that enhance a resident’s ability to communicate or swallow safely following a stroke or when affected by brain damage, dementia, oral cancer and Parkinson’s or other diseases.

Wii Rehabilitation:

Allows residents with impaired functional abilities to recover and regain physical and cognitive function through the use of virtual exercise and play. This new delivery of rehabilitation requires the use of the whole body and helps residents to expand their range of motion, perform repetitive exercises and boost participation in rehabilitations to attain the resident’s highest level of well-being. 
Pet Therapy:

Using a trained service dog, our residents are offered emotional support through the used of interaction with a pet. The therapy dog offers emotional healing for our residents.

Memory Care

FOR RESIDENTS WITH ALZHEIMER’S AND RELATED DEMENTIA.
If a loved one is suffering from the progressive decline of Alzheimer’s or related dementia, we are the place to turn where your loved one can receive specialized care and individualized attention.

Within our Rosemont Unit, our goal is to provide a homelike setting where residents maintain an optimal level of self-care for as long as possible. We ensure a safe and secure environment which provides for a consistent, daily schedule for increased memory maintenance and the ability to function at a sustained level of independence for a longer period of time. 

Memory Care residents are stimulated mentally, physically and socially to utilize all of their abilities. In addition to specialized care for person’s with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia, the memory unit utilizes a licensed nursing staff and rehabilitation services to address most health care needs.
